The GHS Annual Review 2016 is now released
October 2016

The Garrison Health Services (GHS) Annual Review 2016 provides an overview of the fourth year of healthcare service delivery to the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The publication outlines the teams’ collective achievements including key activities, challenges and progress made in the delivery of a nationally consistent approach to healthcare requirements. GHS has continued to work in partnership with Joint Health Command to meet the unique, complex and evolving needs of ADF personnel.

Medibank renews partnership with ADF

 

The GHS Annual Review 2015 is now released
October 2015

The 2015 Annual Review provides an overview of the third year of healthcare service delivery to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) by Medibank's Garrison Health Services (GHS).

This review is an overview of the key activities, challenges and accomplishments over the 2015 financial year. It outlines the progress made in the delivery of a nationally consistent approach to healthcare requirements, which meets the unique needs of ADF personnel.

In 2015 GHS has worked in partnership with Joint Health Command to leverage our combined experience and expertise to optimise service delivery to advance healthcare access, continuously improve quality and consistency, whilst ensuring cost efficiencies.

Recent updates to the GHS Operational Procedures
November 2014

The Operational Procedures—Servicing Australian Defence Force Entitled Personnel are guidelines on GHS process and provider requirements, and are always available and up-to-date on the GHS website.

The guidelines have recently been refined to give further clarity regarding:

  • the change to Specsavers as the nationally preferred supplier of Optical services (section 13) 
  • an updated Privacy Statement that details important requirements to ensure personal information is not transferred outside of Australia for any reason (section 14). 

For queries concerning GHS processes and/or provider requirements please always refer to this document in the first instance. However, for greater clarity on processes GHS are here to help provider service the ADF better. Please email or call GHS with any questions, requests or feedback.

The GHS 2014 Annual Review is now released

The review reflects on the second year of healthcare service delivery to the ADF and is an overview of the key activities, challenges and accomplishments over the 2014 financial year.

It outlines the progress made in the delivery of a nationally consistent approach to healthcare requirements, which meets the unique needs of ADF personnel. During this time GHS has moved beyond the initial transition and operational transaction phases and we are now transforming the way we deliver healthcare to the ADF.

In the second year of service to the ADF operational stability has been achieved, providing the GHS team with the opportunity to improve efficiencies and explore innovations. The review comments on how the past year has continued to challenge the GHS team to look beyond everyday solutions to deliver tailored coordination that can further positively impact the healthcare experience of all ADF personnel.

GHS Provider Network Newsletter
May 2014

The first Provider Network Newsletter was sent to providers to recap on the first 18 months of GHS. The newsletter shares insights on the GHS team that supports providers. Articles focus on new innovations and tools GHS has established to assist providers in delivering first class health services to the ADF.
