Costs associated with visa medicals

The cost of visa medicals are subject to change for bookings for appointment dates from 1 July each year.

There are fees for the visa medical examinations, associated tests and a digital photograph (a DIAC requirement) when these services are provided at a Medibank Health Solutions clinic.

The cost of the examination will depend on the type of visa that you are applying for.  Note that in certain circumstances, DIAC may also request that you undergo a specific type of assessment.

Fees applicable from 1 July 2011

The Visa Medical Price List provides information about the costs associated with examinations conducted in a Medibank Health Solutions visa medical clinic.   Immigration visa medicals are an assessment of health and are NOT covered by private health insurance.

For example, if you are applying for a permanent resident visa you will be required to have a medical examination, a chest x-ray, HIV pathology blood test and your photograph taken.  In some instances you may also be required to have a blood test for Hepatitis B or C or both.
