Visa medical fees

How much will my visa medical cost?

There are fees for the visa medical examinations, associated tests and a digital photograph (a DIAC requirement) when these services are provided at a Medibank Health Solutions clinic.

Note that fees are subject to change for cases started from 1 July each year.

The cost of the examination will depend on the type of visa that you are applying for. Note, that in certain circumstances, DIAC may also request that you undergo a specific type of assessment. The following table also provides an idea of costs associated with such examinations, if performed in a Medibank Health Solutions clinic.

For example, if you are applying for a permanent resident visa you will be required to have a medical examination, a chest x-ray, HIV pathology blood test and your photograph taken.  In some instances you may also be required to have a blood test for Hepatitis B or C or both.

Fees applicable from 1 July 2010

Can I claim the cost of my visa medical from my private health insurer?

Immigration visa medicals are an assessment of health and are NOT covered by private health insurance.
