Medical Assessment Services for the NSW Public Sector
The NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet has appointed Medibank Health Solutions to provide medical assessment services for the NSW public sector.
Contractual services include:
- Medical assessments - for advice to an agency on how to safely manage a non-work related injury or health issue
- Medical certificate validations - for advice that helps agencies determine the type of leave appropriate to the condition stated on an employee's medical certificate
- Pre-placement or periodic health assessments - to determine whether a potential employee or appointee has the appropriate level of health and fitness to safely undertake their work tasks.
Medibank Health Solutions also provides a range of other medical services
These services may be required by individual agencies and can be arranged at the discretion of individual agencies and according to their own terms.
- Corporate health & wellbeing - Online health services, physical and emotional health promotions, and telephone and online health coaching
- Occupational health – Pre -employments, functional and psychological assessments, baseline and periodic health screening.
- Injury prevention & management – Early intervention programs, job task analysis, ergonomic assessments, fitness for duty, physiotherapy, functional capacity evaluation, second opinion medicals' and return to work and occupational rehabilitation services.
- Travel health – travel health consultation and vaccination, pre and post deployment and travel health and safety
